They were full wood and this has been cut down. The wood should be interchangeable. They should have a rounded boss and sight guard, less the stacking swivel. The cutout is just filled.

Jim - thank you for your reply. I was suspecting it was either chopped by bubba or some importer. When I saw another picture with the same configuration I may have gotten a little...hopeful.

Personally, I've always wanted one to play with. I have a smack of .303 brass to make into cartridges and a full wood version would be most welcome for fun...but they're expensive around here now.

They had one in the 300$ range at my local gunstore for a while. Might even still be there as there wasn't much interest in it.

The best cartridges to use in these 410's is 444Marlin Brass. You can use winchester wads in them and use the 444 crimp die to close over the card on the shot.

Was it in original condition, within reason? Full wood like?

Full wood, proper single shot magazine. I am not sure if it was reamed to accept true .410 or if it was still the original .303 British
.410.

A lot have been reamed when imported, makes it a lot easier to get ammo. I thought long and hard about the originality vs the ability to shoot and decided shooting is preferable. I know the surplus is available but not particularly easy.

I picked up some of this about a year ago, but haven't had a chance to try any of it. Looks like he still has some in stock.
