Savage Arms FVT will replace .22″ No.8 cadet rifle
Interesting could be some No.8 on the market.

Don't get your hopes up, I understand that any No8 rifles that are released from cadet use are going to be scrapped as the government does not want any "ex military" rifles getting into the wrong hands and that sadly includes the humble .22 No8........

The UK
MoD might listen to request for a one-off bulk buy if approached by representatives of the the NRA or the NSRA. But won't be the MoD that are the fly in the ointment. It'll be the NSRA and the NRA hierarchy, believe me!

Would be nice to see, but as Buccaneer says "I wouldn't get my hopes up" I've got a feeling that the EU directive which is just around the corner will put a dent in the UK Firearms business and not just the Deactivated market, just my gut feeling ...... but fingers crossed by the time it gets sorted and passed...... we may be out the EU

Good choice IMO, wish they made it available with a wood stock to us civilians. It is a good gun.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

I bet that if you asked for a replacement wood stock they'd sell you one. After all, business is business. I wonder if the new rifle will be marked as RIFLE, .22" LxxAxx at Savage

I agree, polymer has it's place, but I would buy a target wood stocked version, not a plastic.
Unless they make this commonly available, I will continue to shoot the typical Cooey products.
