Norinco AKM/47S
Just picked up a Norinco AKM/47S still in great shape with only a ding in the stock. Overall bluing is also great and the bolt and carrier are also blued (bolt closer to plum). ALL serials match as well as the bayonet.
Markings are on the left hand side over the trigger and as follows:
AKM/47S
SEMI AUTO
7.62 X 39MM
NORINCO
SILE, N.Y., N.Y.
MADE IN CHINA
Don't know much about it other than what some forums say and I'm more used to Garands and M1 Carbines. Paid $700.00 for it. Wondering what I've got. Thanks for any help. Cheers, Bruce.

I have one just like it. Purchased new in the box in Fayetteville, NC in 1985 with the matching bayonet, cleaning kit and three magazines. My first Chinese AKM to be honest. The bolt and carrier are in the white, not blued. I think you'll find that these early semi-auto Norinco rifles have the best stock trigger pull of any AK out there. This one is match grade as AK's go! I've had a ton of AK's since and it's better than most IMHO. Enjoy.

$700 is a good priice for what you got. The Chinese are VERY good AKs. My first AK was a Chinese Poly-Tec Type 56 with a folding bayonet. Wish I still had it!
