FN 1900 question
Hi all,
Recently picked up a decent example of a 1900. Kind of beat up but not too bad. I like my milsurps with some honest wear, not pristine anyway.
Anyway, had a question about the SN. The 2 matching SNs on the slide and sight post date it to about 1906. The number on the frame reinforced area is a super early SN? Mixmatch slide and frame? Just want to confirm that this is, in fact, a SN and not something else? Were the SNs marked in all three places?

That is the location of the frame serial on my example (in the 540xxx block, so a few years younger than yours), so unfortunately it should match. At least at first glance the print on the slide and frame are both correct for the period and also both lack the smokeless powder proof found on later guns. Barrel also seems proofed correctly for the time span, with no smokeless powder proof like the frame and slide.
Enjoy it! I brought mine home, cleaned it, and it runs like a champ. These are pretty accurate if the bore is good, and honestly the sights aren't too bad, especially for the time frame they were produced. Easy shooting too, and I find the fit for my hand(s) is perfect.
