I've been there, didn't see anyone shooting in stocking feet though. By the looks of her cheekweld, he did some more coaching before she shot a target for score.

I believe she is wearing white canvas 'sneekers', plimsoles or tennis shoes.
The Australian
Army issued us a pair of very similar Dunlop made sports shoes back in the day.

I wondered if she had a runner of some sort on but really couldn't make it out. It sure would make more sense. Ours were white for years too, but hi-top... I also see the op handle is to the rear now...
