P H 1200 receiver
I may have the opportunity to acquire a receiver from a 1200 series as my Parker Hale 1200's left action rail is worn it is in 22/250 the round pops out before the claw can get into the recess of the case.
The extractor claw will not go over the rim you cannot close the bolt so there is my rifles issue causing a miss feed. I am conversing with a chap who has a receiver which he says is fine but it was for a Norma 8mm Mag so will the 22/250 round work in that action.
Obviously I will transpose the trigger housing and internal mag from my rifle but my concern is the action may have been made to accommodate the 8mm round he did say he converted it to a 257 Roberts which worked fine.
What are the thoughts and given it is ok what would one expect to pay for this 2nd hand action I appreciate the response and assistance.

Ron,
If its new, anywhere over £250+ here in the UK
.
Is it really that bad, or can a good gunsmithy not sort it for you. I know someone locally that could do it for you, but by the time the courier/paperwork etc was done it would probably be easier done local to you.

Yep it is that bad the Rt side no worries the left will not play ball, there have been various suggestions put forward one was to epoxy shim material just under the rail molded to shape sort of trial and error I would like it fixed as they really are a beautifully made rifle and if you have one you know what I mean. Mind you I would love the sniper variant in my gun safe. Would like to know the cure I do have a gunsmith in mind as he had a look at it before though he suggested a defcon type material rather than brass shim as he felt that could be binding by the the case being of the same material. And I would hate to guess what it would cost to send the action & bolt over to the UK

Ron,
I wouldn't think it would be too great an expence. I had Bill Smallwood in mind, a good friend ex PH gunsmith now works one day a week (Fri) at Norman Clarks Gunsmithing in Rugby:
19 Somers Rd, Rugby CV22 7DG UK
Phone: 0044 1788 579651
Easy for me to say living in the UK, but that would be my first port of call. Get a costing from UPS/FEDEX for the weight of the action and the bolt first, you might be surprised

You could always convert it to a detachable magazine.

Not perfect but will work after some trial and error.
During a google search I found this place as well.

I have some of the Voere bottom metal and Mags. Have not installed them on a rifle yet, but they are very well built.
