Mystery 1907 Bayonet
I have this 1907 bayonet of which I am not certain of it's age or maker. I have one or two ideas of my own of what it could be but I'm mot at all sure. Most of the markings appear to have been partially or totally removed from the blade but there are some markings on the tang. Any information as to it's make, age and history would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

First thing that comes to mind with the OTC is Officer Training Corps but that's my US thinking. No idea what it would stand for in GB.

Same in the UK
. These were the School Cadets from the well known Public and Private Schools. Changed in the late 40's or so to Combined Cadet Forces as opposed to the local Army Navy/Air Cadets. Major differences, mainly in funding, kit supplied with and the CCF's have their own system known as '.....the old boy network' Similar to the wartime lend-lease but on a bigger scale!

I thought that OTC had the same meaning but have never heard of such organisations within the U.K.. Perhaps the bayonet has been imported into England
in more recent years? I did wonder if the star on the tang indicated Lithgow
manufacture or refurbishment???

lots of OTC units in the UK
see 1907 pattern Bayonets I have one from a school and it would be possible to track the blade to the original owner at the school as they left with it when they graduated in WWI, as officers bought their own kit.
