Another great gift
Once again when friends say "You're into this sort of thing, want these?"...you take whatever it is as it might have something great. Not really in this case though. Just a bag of stuff to accompany the #5 that he gave me...see the LE forum...
A bit of everything...some 9mm, 12ga, 16ga, some 380, 25, 22, some empty 22 short(the meaning of useless) nail gun blanks and air rifle pellets. Some .303 and empties, a few .455 and one 44-40. The flannelettes were thrown in for Peter's nostalgia. The .22 pistol mag is a Colt or Browning...you tell me. Anyone need it? The antique in the center bottom is a Canadian
Penny...out of service.

Thing is Jim they are no longer making the Mk VII ball ammo so I just look at the stuff is all collectible. Thanks for posting.

I did however have a good look at the .455 ammo and found some was marked 1930, 1923. Some of the .303 is 1918. It all came from a dealer locally that can't deal ammo or current firearms. I think he finds it at times when he goes through his boxes and eventually it comes to me. If you were closer, you could go through it as my cartridge collection is a bit hit and miss...

to me the divide is nickel jacketed or not.
nickel being instantly put in the "not going to use" pile where copper goes in the "if I need it" pile.
along with simply wishing for proper mk7 projectiles I wish someone would make them with a nickel looking jacket. I know function should be the biggest concern, but nickel jackets just look so pretty (and "correct").
