Buying WW2 rifles in France, advice needed.
Morning all,
My business interests will have me making semi regular trips through Normandy and Brittany in the coming year.
When over there a couple of weeks back visiting clients, I asked about German positions in this guys locality during 1944, he disappeared and came back with at what at first appeared to be a very nice Mauser K98
.
I immediately thought about buying it, unfortunately, the bore was rather badly corroded, so a non starter for me.
He found this piece in the attic of his farmhouse a few years ago (resistance related perhaps), it would appear there is still lots of gear about in that area and I would very much like to own and shoot a K98 that was involved with the French
occupation.
So, with this in mind, does anyone have information regarding French Firearm dealers in that area that might help with the bureaucracy that is sure to be involved?
I don't think bringing it back would be a massive issue, I shall get a variation on my FAC for 7.92 first of coarse..
A K98 is on my buy list for next year, so why not a French bring back after all...

I saw lots of legal weapons in the Paris Flea Market. That would be a starter. The French
have easy shotgun laws but tough Handgun and Rifle laws. Good luck.

These people are our best bet. Right in the area, about 20km north-east of Caen.
