Century Arms - Caveat Emptor
Attention C&R shoppers,
Be advised that Century Arms puts a rifle in a box and tapes it shut. Having received a few long guns, you have probably seen both good and bad packaging. See the worst.

The photos above show a rifle listed at full price as "very good condition." Protective materials consisted solely of the scant tissue paper visible, which was loosely wrapped around the steel end. With a request for remediation I sent the photos to their "support" address, and you can see their reply. I politely asked them to reconsider. No further response.
This can be fixed, but it shouldn't be broken. Nor should it have cost me full price over their "cracked stock" offering. Good luck with your gambles.
Mike

Wow, I would not be happy. I would not blame the shipper as they put that in the cheapest cardboard box they could find and didn't pack it.
If it were good cardboard and came out like that then, yeah, maybe put the blame on the shipper but not in that box.

This the company that thinks it is acceptable for AKs to shear off the locking surface on the front trunnion in a few hundred rounds so on one hand I'm not shocked about the lack of service after it happened. Especially given Fedex is going to take one look at how it was packed and decline to pay.
What I am shocked about is that they feel that is an acceptable way to ship a rifle. Making me think twice about a fairly decent sized order I was thinking of putting in. Now I know where all the cracked stock specials they have came from.

Bummer on the stock, hit me up with a PM if you need it fixed.

How did you sign for the package? Did you just sign for it or did you include "goods not inspected" or something similar?

This one makes me sick to my stomach.
Was packing extra????????
No bubble wrap? No nothing......... stock sliding around on cardboard, might as well been wrapped in sand paper.
I'll pass this link to all I know.
Please keep us posted

I agree, I'd have refused that one. They should have packed it much better than that...

Agreed, it's not due diligence.

There could be problems if it was just signed for without stating "goods not inspected" or similar but I guess it all depends on the goodwill of the vendor/carrier. Personally, I would expect the vendor to sort out the problem because that was who the contract was with for supplying the goods but that's just my opinion.
