Big thanks to Seaforth72
Just like to say a big thanks to Seaforth72, for locating the matching scope for my No4T.....
Was a complete suprise to see a PM this morning regarding the location etc, I hope to contact the owner later on today.
Not bad news after a 13 hour nightshift down the pit with everybone aching.
Seaforth72 if your reading this, realy appreciate your effort and time etc, will keep you posted, (tried to PM you, your inbox is full so could not PM you)

BigDuke6 - Happy to help. My mailbox now has space in it.
It is at the very least, nice to know where the scope matching your rifle is (on a different continent in this case). You can stop looking and start negotiating! I hope that you and the other person can work out a win-win deal.
This is a key reason why I maintain my No. 4 (T) research database which is now over 1,400 No. 4 (T) Complete sets or orphaned serial numbered items such as rifles, brackets, scopes, scope cases and occasionally chests. Not all of these rifles, scopes etc. survive, some having fallen victim to war, or "Bubba", and I try to include any that were converted to sniper, including those later converted to L42A1 or experimented with. I also track the No. 4 MK. I or MK. * (T.LESS TELESCOPE) rifles and Trails No. 4 MK. I, even those not converted to sniper equipment. I know that Peter Laidler
kept records of scopes that he worked on and that others keep records (e.g. "Lee Enfield" and "stencollector" also track Canadian
Long Branch snipers).
The Canadian Long Branch sniper rifles (dear to my Canadian heart) are somewhat easier to list as most (but not all) were in batches of serial numbers, whereas the U.S. made Stevens-Savage and British
made R.S.A.F. Enfield, BSA Shirley and other British made No. 4 rifles converted into No. 4 (T)s are usually individually selected, so their serial numbers are unpredictable.
As such, I include ANY serial numbers that I can find, even partials and those where one or more digits are illegible (most often in photos). Although I listed all 350 Long Branch 74Lxxxx rifles fitted with Lyman Alaskan No.l 32 TP MK. I scopes, I have not yet listed all known serial number runs of the other Canadian No. 4 MK. I* (T) rifles. Naturally when one, or part of one, surfaces, or further information about it, I update its information.
I know that many others on this forum are happy to help with leads as well as information e.g. Brian Dick
(BDL
Ltd.) in South Carolina found a scope set that matched a BSA No. 4 MK. I (T) that I had bought out of Pennsylvania. Brian found the scope/bracket/No. 8 MK. I case owner in Nebraska and I ended up selling that rifle to the Nebraska fellow who now has a matched set. Both "Brian Dick" and "Chosenman" found me Canadian made R.E.L. C No. 32 scopes for some of my Long Branch No. 4 MK. I* (T) rifles and, although they are mismatched numbers, they are the correct models. Thank you all.
