Another MkII*** Unit marking question...
although I haven't received it yet, I am expecting a very nice Ross MkII*** with only two unit marks, as well as the US acquisition stamp. One one of the two is fairly visible in the photo provided by the seller. I have not been able to find any guide on line for deciphering and am wondering if anyone here can help. It appears to be G (or 6) FCCE over 10. Here is the mark:

A complete shot in the dark, but there was a "6 Field Company Canadian
Engineers" that was raised in Vancouver, BC early in the Great War, and was subsequently deployed to France in early 1916...

And farther up the stock it appears to be "6 DCOR" for "6th Duke of Connaught's Own Rifles", which was a pre-WWI militia unit in British Columbia.
Unsanded stock so what a pity someone stripped it.
