Congratulations. They wanted you to leave, too. When they are bleeding so much red, they will put on an exit tax like New Jersey has.

We got out ahead of exit tax idea, however we are probably facing a 10% California Capital Gains tax from the sale of our house.

Congrats! I left the "Empire" state for the great state of TX in 1975 and never looked back. That was before I had a clue, but it all worked out...

Love the bullet holes in the sign...seeing the mountains, I know about where you settled in relation to where you were. Just enough to be clear. Yes, Cali is nice but enough would be enough. Lots of us think about it too...believe me.

The local range is $2 all day and you can back your vehicle up to your shooting station. They have a pistol and rifle range with targets to 300 yards. There are some strict rules, see #3 Below:

Now that all my toys are in Nevada do I have to deregister them in California? All my weapons purchased as a FFL-03 are registered with the CA DOJ and of course the guns I purchased through a FFL-01 were run through the DROS system.
I have to say it looks stunning were you have moved to, both the scenery and the range rules!
Happy days...

Thanks everyone. This area is dominated by California Expats, hard to find a native from Nevada.
Went by the Senior center to check on Medicare options. While waiting we were looking at the BB that listed the classes offered, one that stood out was CCW, we've arrived! The lady in charge of the center that day packs as do a sizable number of folks. That's in addition to the open carry.
