French Resistance/Free France Adrian Helmet
WW2 FREE FRENCH ADRIAN HELMET,LARGE SIZE! | eBay
Been looking for an Adrian and encountered this on eBay. For a WWII era helmet I would generally consider this price high especially given the missing cockade, but I was curious about the Free French
marking on it.
Any comments on this? Seems like something that could have been added a later date, possibly half a century ago, and due to general aging just looks old. I am always careful about relatively rare items that could be easily reproduced and look authentic. I'd appreciate sources for further research if you have them. If it is legit, any suggestions on price?

I would say that it is currently somewhere around about the right price, as I write this post (10/5/17) but personally I wouldn't pay a premium for the Free French
/French Resistance marking on it. This is because I don't have enough confidence in my own judgment to know whether or not the marking is genuine or not. If I bid on this, I would be buying a French Adrian helmet that is missing it's metal badge. I paid about £45-£50 for a similar one a couple of years ago which I thought was about the right price; it did have are repro badge, though.
