Yep Bob the 1000 yd stare only applicable to those that have been at the very pointy end of the war/s there was a classic one in a WWI treatment station will dig it up.

The Thompson was over 10 lbs. With loaded drum it was almost 15 lbs.

15 lbs or not, I reckon the bloke was glad to have it with him given the situation. I doubt the weight worried him.

When we were younger, the weight didn't bother us much did it? You had to carry and your weapon was the least of it.

You also forgot the mantra "Bullet proof" no matter what we pursued at that youthful age you never thought of the consequences I had 2 speeds riding my bikes flat out and faster not worrying about the sudden stop.........
