Good to see you again Jim, long time since I crossed the Coronado St bridge too...

Jim, we lived down there 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971. The bridge went up late 1969. We had to take a ferry across the first few years.

That would have been sweet...a river barge likely...not much more. I was only there first in '74 and the bridge did look about new. Last time was probably '84.

Had the Memorial Day today at the Madingley American Cemetery in Cambridge UK this morning.
Very moving service and a great turn out of all services of the U.S Forces serving over here at the moment, and British
Forces too, ever in deepest gratitude for their service when a long way from home during WW2 and beyond.

I wish more here in the States would do more to honor the Allies who have fought and served along with us over the many battles.
I know I'm asking to much of the many younger here than show no interest and can show no knowledge.
I'm shocked at tv interviews where many asked couldn't tell you who fought who in most wars since the revolutionary war.
Do they teach history anymore?
Thank All this Memorial day!
JimF,
Your better half is looking pretty hot!
Better keep an eye on her......
Cheers

Charlie,
Thats not just the States, its all over the world. It is so absolutely important to keep feeding the subject matter of all wars into young children, as they grow older and see many disabled veterans again walking our streets, and learn where we in our generations went wrong!!
It is still very raw in my mind returning home from anywhere, where we had had, a very rough time of it and lost lads, that I felt as you do. Noone seemed to care of even have an interest or was it me??
Not a great feeling some of the civvy attitudes, towards service men and women IMHO

No, it's not you. And it's not just in one area or country.
