Spares? Bolts, stocks, firing pins, etc.
Say a Country contracted or built for themselves say, 10,000 rifles. How did they figure on the amount of replacement parts?

He must've had an office next to the guy in charge of building Aircraft Carriers, he learned from him.

Sometimes it was fairly arbitrary, or based on experience with the last model. The British
thought US scale of spares for Thompson guns was far too generous, based on their own experience with the gun in the Middle East, and that user demand for some parts was practically nil and could be supplied by cannibalising u/s guns if needed.
