The OP slide groove on that one is rounded at the back. The one on my Underwood is square, but it's not a sub-contracted receiver. - Bob

Called the seller -- an extremely helpful and pleasant gentleman. He says SN is 3385XXX -- in the SG range but he could not see the maker stamp under the rear sight so it might be an S'G'. Barrel is an 8-44 Underwood (replacement) with Blue Sky stamp. T-1 stock patina appears legit but stamps missing -- sanded? No idea on the internals. Nice looking rifle. . . .

"...Blue Sky stamp..." Blue Sky is known for damaging the Carbines they built. Usually dented barrels caused by excessive force used on the stamp. They might have damaged that receiver too. Hard to tell what might have done that from the picture though.
Spelling and Grammar count!

The "Blue Sky" stamp many be deep and incontestable but that doesn't always mean it ruins the barrel. Some of my best groupings have been with a Blue Sky marked barrel.
One thing it is, ugly.

For a worn import it is well over priced. The only good thing going for it is the stock being a high wood.

Hey, its not meaness, he's just telling it like it is.
If by 'damage' you are referring to the curved angle cut just above the bolt, the one on that carbine is a flatter angle than on my Inland but appears to be as it was made. Looks like the finish is worn off too. The only other thing I see is some 'pits' forward of the LH locking lug but doesn't seem to be anything broken off.

Especially since I started on the original Culver forum. That had to be about 1998.
