It's interesting to note in the photo they are calling the rifle a 1903.

In a book about the Springfield 1903 I read 2000 M1917-rifles were modified between August an November 1918, but only six of the devices were made for them.

Edit: Gun Digest 1968 contains an article by William B. Edwards on the Pedersen Device. It also shows the author shooting with the Pedersen Device in the Mosin Nagant rifle. At the very end of the article the author lists known Pedersen Devices. Number 19 of those is described as "Non-standard experimental device for Enfield Rifle, no number, unmarked, formerly in storeroom of inventor, now in collection of William B. Edwards" (and as a small side note, number 20 reads as "Non-standard unique design Pedersen device for Russian Nagant rifle, now in collection of William B. Edwards".
If I remember it correctly these two were afterwards offered by Peter Cardone in his catalogue for sale. Then they once turned up with James D. Julia, but the MN PD was lacking some parts since the article in 1968..

This is one of the eight relativ common photos of the M1917-device that were used before the Julia-auction. You can find most of the photos in Brophy`s book to the Springfield 1903.

If I remenber right: They joke was that they wanted to buy 350.000 devices für the M1917 rifle and 150.000 for the M1903 rifle. That is the reason, that Remington began in August 1918 to produce the 2.000 rifles for trials but only a low number of devices for them (6 ?). For the M1903 they had made a larger quantity of devices (1.000 to 1.500 ?) but for them there were no rifles. Sprinfield Armory produced the first rifles in November 1918 (20 to 100 ?).
