The two rifle grenades are unusual, but what caught my eye in the colorized version were the three different kinds of foot gear.

I was just looking at that too...and the canvas M1

This picture has intrigued me for years.
I would think ... what would happen if Sgt. Schultz tossed a potato masher out of that open window or used an MP 40 out of the window? It would definitely ruin their day. And if they did bash that rather stout looking door in with the rifle butt what would happen to the rifle? Are they going to fire the rifle grenade into the open door? Those don't curve around the door. They will go straight into the far inside wall and explode before those guys could get out of the doorway opening. That would ruin their day too.
If I was the squad leader (I'm not but I play one on TV) I would remove one of those rifle grenades and use ball ammo. I would then have the remaining rifle grenade fire at the door from a protected position. When the grenade exploded, the two remain troops would run up, toss a hand grenade into the open window. When that explodes (they are protected by the wall) they rush through the door and engage the enemy who if not dead or wounded would be suffering from the effects of concussion caused by two grenades.
That's what I would do if I was the squad leader.
But then again, I am not a photographer looking for a good photo op.

Staged photo, look how clean their uniforms are, no cartridge belt for either guy with the Garands, etc.
