Help Identifying No8 Rear Sight
Hi All,
I recently got a No8 Rifle. The rifle is in very good condition over all but when i started to look at the rear sight i discovered that it has had some form of after market modification.
It seems to have the original ladder with an after market windage adjustable "riser" (unsure of the technical name). It is fitted with a Parker Hale PH59 aperture. The only markings on the "riser" is a 4.
Does anyone know what this aftermarket attachment is? This one has a broken windage screw and i would like to try and get a replacement if possible.

It looks to me like the rear sight of a .22RF No 5 trials rifle.
The "Lee Enfield" pg 297 shows a similar sight on the Match version of the No 8 rifle.

Yeah I had a look through the lee enfield book last night and I found that same Page. That is the only picture I have found of a similar sight.
If they are that rare I'll never find parts for it

Yes, it does seem to be a rare one.
You might be able to get something that works from another type of sight.
Are you able to pull it apart to get dimensions of what part you need?

I have one of those sights as well, made by Fazakerly and on a No8, not surprisingly.
Not all that common, a sight collector years ago said Fazakerly made a small quantity and the leaked out of the factory, but as the TZ and No 5C sights worker perfectly well for small bore, the sight did not get officially adopted (and no long barrel NO 8 rifles were made either.

Would you be able to take some pictures of the windage adjustment bolt head for me?
