Shell case Tank, A/T or AA

Had this since last year & thought I would share a couple of pics its a M19 90mm 1943 shell case.
Its is probably to hard to ascertain whether it was from a tank (Pershing) though I heard a whisper they fitted a Pershing turret to an M-4 with the 90mm any truth in that one!
About the only thing that is a little off putting the chap I brought this & other pieces from liked them all shiny and bright.
For a collector like me nothing is further from the truth their patina is part of their history but sooo many people just like to polish it away which I feel detracts from it.
And as 90mm WWII cases are not that plentiful down here I brought that a 20Pdr complete smoke shell round from a Centurion plus complete brass cased Aden round from him.

Love to see a clear pic of that one, I need the shell because I've had the projectile for decades...and don't even know what I'm looking for... I suppose it'll look much like this one for shape. This is classic for tank shells...high velocity.

U.S. made(doesn't mean it wasn't used in a Centurion) and accepted due to the U.S. Ordnance Dept. 'flaming bomb' stamp. Used during W.W. II and after in AA, AT and some tanks. That have '1943' stamped on it? Can't quite make it out clearly. Still doesn't mean it wasn't used in the Centurion. They came in 105, 17 pounder and 20 pounder guns. They got around too. Everybody and his brother in The Commonwealth used 'em.

Sorry Sunray my bad for not clarifying in my post that the Centurian round which is a 20Pdr was another separate piece I brought from the chap, he was moving and had to sell up so I had a good leverage but only has X$'s so I picked the best of what he had mind you I drove 140K's there one way to get them.

Here's the pics Jim I measured the base so you know how big the 20Pdr is the 303 on the Rt is for scale with the 90mm on the left.

That's the projectile I have too. Mine has no paint left, I picked it up in about '86 out in Alberta and have been waiting to find out what case I need...good luck finding one here I guess. Too long since firing...a steel case might exist, people aren't so eager to melt those down. I found a 155mm smoke the same day. Don't have it any more, too big to keep packing around.

Theres a 17Pdr for sale on used guns with a APDS only wants $900/Au for it looks nice but not at 900 smackers.

Hi. The 90mm M19 round was used in AA guns, AT guns and some tanks during W.W. II. The U.S. M26 Pershing had a 90mm gun and used the M19 round.
The Centurion used 17 and 20 pounder guns plus the best tank gun ever made, the L7 105. The shells all look the same but for their diameters.
