WHAT HAPPENED TO THE NO 4 RIFLE IN .410
I suppose now I am asking loads of people will say they have one, but there seems to be a big gap in Lee Enfield No4's in .410 for sale, or have I missed them?

Wasn't even aware they converted any. Plenty of No3's around.

Not a lot of 'em to start with. I believe(mostly a guess) any No. 4 Rifle conversion would be commercial rather than military though.

There used to be loads around, but none at Bisley so I assumed they must be like Rocking Horse doo da these days.

C&G Firearms still convert the odd few really shagged out 4's.
There used to be a demand from re-enactor market but that reason has dried up somewhat with legislation changes, and with availability of barrels again from various sources, decent but shagged barrel No.4's can be refurbed to decent shooters with the price they are now going for.

My "For Collectors Only" book makes no mention of No4's converted to 410 so most likely commercial. They mention 13 specific military barrel types and a commercial Sterling 7.62 NATO barrel.

They are obviously getting as rare as Hens teeth. Here is one mentioned and now DEAC
WWII Lee Enfield No4 Bolt Action .410 Shotgun - Live Firearms and Shotguns
Quite handy when the rifle is shot out I suppose to keep it going

Did a bit more digging, this would be a good buy in a jungle carbine version:
410 gauge Bolt Action Enfield, Lee Shotguns for sale on guntrader.uk
