Anybody know powder type used by Sellier and Bellott in their .303 brit ammo?

Hi. No manufacturer publishes the loads they use. They load to get a specific range of velocities and pressures. The powder amount and actual powder may change from one lot to another. Reloaders can't get the powders anyway.
Their 180 grain FMJ(no 174 grain loaded by them. Close enough anyway.) runs at 2477 FPS. So any powder that gives close to that will do nicely. 2400 plus is a Max load velocity though. I'd suggest either H or IMR4350. The H gives slightly higher velocities. The 2 powders are close but not the same.
Slug your barrel first. Seller and Bellot uses a .311" bullet. Not all Lee-Enfields have .311" barrels. Commercial jacketed bullets run .311" or .312" only(there are larger cast bullets available here. Dunno about there.) Barrels can go to .315" and be ok. Isn't unsafe to use smaller diameter in an over sized barrel, but the accuracy will be bad.

I know that we will never know the make of powder used, i was interested in the type (eg spherical, tubular, double base etc)

The type can change too. Usually it's an extruded powder, but the manufacturers load for a specific velocity at a specific pressure.
Easiest way to find out is with a bullet puller though. Assumes you're reloading though.

The 174 bullet weight is the basic same thing as a 180 by S&B. Several bullet makers offer them. The same bullets are useable in .303, 7.7 Japanese, 7.52x54 Russian so they are available from on line retailers who sell reloading supplies.

The 174 is an open tip bullet. The 180 S&B is FMJ closed tip. this is what I want to try. Thanks

You probably should have started another thread. However, if you're loading .303 British, you need the barrel diameter too. Not all Lee-Enfield barrels are .311" and the manufacturers make .311" or .312" with Hornady making a .3105" FMJ bullet. All their other .303 Brit bullets are .312".
If you're loading 7.62 x 54R, it's not a big deal. No daft barrel ID's with Mosin-Nagants. The .3105" Hornady FMJ will do nicely.

I use the 180 gr. In al my Enfields (3) with good results
But I live in EU. And dont know if they didnt sell components
In other continents.
