M1A bayonet lug?
I've been wanting to get an M1A to represent the M14 since I'll probably never be able to own one but looking at them tonight, I noticed they don't have a bayonet lug. How difficult is it to convert one of these to military configuration minus the full auto aspect? Is the bayonet lug the extent of it or would other parts be needed? May change my purchasing desire.

Just change the flash eliminator to a standard M14 surplus FE and enjoy.

Try Fulton Armory, if you go online you will see that in their M1A/M14 parts section, they sell non functioning selector switches and I am pretty sure you can get a flash suppressor with bayonet lug.

Some states do not allow the bayonet lug on M1A, AR-15 and Soviet weapons, best to check local laws

There has been a marked decrease in drive-by-bayoneting incidents in the states that banned bayonet lugs.
