Case, Carrying M12 - For Telescopes M23, M1918, and M1918A2

Hello all.

The subject line says it all.

A friend-of-a-friend offered this to me. I've not seen it yet, just these pictures. I can't find a darn thing about the case anywhere. Not even a mention of it.

Any idea on value? I have a suspicion it's not really worth that much but it'll look mighty fine carrying my ammo an ear plugs to the shooting range! I'd like to make the guy a fair offer though.

These three were artillery fire control instruments (TM9-2300 of Feb 1944 describes) used on a surveyors-type tripod (Tripod M10). The whole thing was described as 'Instrument, Azimuth, M1918A2 or M1'. All were 'limited standard' or 'substitute standard' by WW2. To somebody who has got any of them it is no doubt desirable.

Well firstly, the thing is friggin’ huge. 6 or 7” square at least.
I was able to dig real deep and find some that sold for $150ish. This one is missing the interior supports for the scopes which I assume kills the value.

I ended up giving him $120 for it. I figure I can sell the miscellaneous stuff he had in it for about half that.
Which means for $60 I have the coolest range bag in the firing line!
