very rare M1 Rifle clip
Received this photo from my old friend Tom in NJ. A friend of his purchased a collection of M1
clips just to get example of a Danly clip. Suppose to be a salesman's example of the Danley clip. Attachment 99168

Is there also a marking center back? That stamping or acid etch would only be for show on the early ones...too much time taken to apply. I'd expect a letter or alphanumeric on the back on production.

early and rare M1 rifle clips
I was told the Danley clip had a gray enamel type finish which could be for the salesman sample? also the Danley clip is not marked on the back. Early Winchester clips (it is believed) were also not stamped in back - I have a photo
The early clips had the indents cut-out and there was a different web pattern on the back too
Danley clips were going to be manufactured in ChicagoAttachment 99172
