Machine Rifle Ammo Chest M-1, D3920
Digging through My junk and found an old 1930's era Ammo box, and since I haven't been able to upload pictures (Come-on Mods, Fix this) I will try to describe it best I can. The Box measures 17" X 3-3/4" X 6 3/8", The box is marked "Mach. Rifle Ammo Chest M1
,D3920"
paint is in fair to poor condition, but the stenciled markings are legible, the spacers inside the box for the Browning Automatic Rifle BAR Magazines are missing. the leather handle is in very good condition. No dents. Could use a good cleaning from being stored in My junk for over 50 years.
I this Box of any value or should I just throw it away ?

I couldn’t find any sold listings on eBay.
I did find one auction that sold a lot of one of these and two regular 50 cal cans. That lot went for $70. I’d say your can would probably be the majority of that figure based on my experience with the other cans
So it’s worth maybe $40?? First I’ve ever heard of one, thanks for sharing!

Not really the mods fault, but if you'll email them to me I'll put them up. Check your pm for address.
There are several here, do you see yours? U.S Military Metal Ammo Boxes
I'm thinking it's this one...

Thanks Jim for posting Pic's for Me.
Yes the top one looks almost exactly like mine. The one in Your Pic still has the rivets that hold the dividers in place and mine don't.
Good Shooting

If you place it in the WTS forum and refer the sale thread here...maybe put some sort of price on it and hash it out with the buyer. We have lots of guys here that collect that very thing. I had three Browning Auto rifles through time myself, but have none at present. I had lots of kit but never that magazine box.
