If it was a South American rifle wouldn't there likely be a crest on top of the receiver, or didn't it always get applied in all cases?

I looked at those and they there were examples with crests. However I heard that they might have also stamped the stock on the left side but there is no stamping not even faint. So I was left leaning that it was a German
rifle.

It has German
acceptance marks all over it, it's German, not an export model.

I just wanted to make sure. I looked at photos of some Portuguese rifles and they had some German
proofs. But overall I am happy with the purchase. I got it for $550.
