Lee Enfield EAL Value?

I have a Lee Enfield EAL in good condition, It’s the military version but one of the 1000 or so sold to the public. It has the original flush magazine and no modifications, the serial number is 586X. I’ve had it out at the range and it works well, does anyone know the approximate value? It’s in similar shape to the one previously listed on Joe Saltar. Any thoughts or opinions welcome.

Icollector sold one last August with the military markings removed for $500Cdn. I would think those markings would add value. Trick is finding somebody who knows it's not a bubba'd No. 4 and wants it.

Yeah I guess depends on who wants it and how bad, I've seen a few for sale and it's all over the map, not many of this model though more the A/B models with the peep sights. seems like allot have been altered to fit a scope and they can be a bit of a mess. I'm not worried about selling it I'm just thinking that if it is collectable and worth something I may want to look into caring for it beyond shooting and cleaning it.

It looks like a very nice example. I still can't wrap my mind around the logic of why they made the military version look like a sporting rifle, and the civilian version look like a military rifle. Always wanted the military version.

My understanding is that it was designed as a survival rifle for the RCAF and Canadian icon

Rangers, basically something to kill game in a survival situation and the odd rampaging polar bear.

The Hercules aircraft had survival kits on stretchers way up out of reach...Desert, Winter, Jungle/Conventional. They had these rifles inside for emergency.

That's interesting, thanks. I knew the RCAF used them but I wasn't exactly sure for what.
