Bayonet ID help
This bayonet came with a Savage RFA musket I bought today. When I got it home, I spotted the British
proofs on it. I first thought Martini Henry, but I'm starting to think P1853 Enfield. Whatcha think?

Wasn't there a difference in bore diameter through the socket, between the 2 bayonets?

Everybody and his brother plus all their cousins used a bayonet like that. Up close(click on the picture and the box with the arrow) the stamps don't appear to be anything. Other than a crown on something.
It does look like a Martini Henry P-1876 though.
Spelling and Grammar count!

1853's in many cases were sleeved so they would fit the Martini Henry. Everything else was left the same so the inner diameter of the socket is pretty important.
