That was my initial assumption. If the British
government was handing out Enfield revolvers to Egypt, they'd probably include P37 holsters. Just looking for other suggestions, if there are any.

Egypt, Iraq and many other Middle East and African countries had P37 equipment. Found lots of it in Iraq after GW2.

Iraq bought the first large export batch of No2 Mk1 revolvers in the mid30's. All were commercially proofed instead of military proofed and some early ones came back during GW2 as BP says. We had a couple of these very early ones seized from a siege in Basra and we gave a complete one plus one that I skeletonised to the old RSAF mini museum at Enfield lock with a short covering report to the effect that it had been exported in the 30's and were now was back at their ancestral home, the RSAF at Enfield in Middlesex in 2010
