No4Mk1 maker

Good Morning Gentlemen (and Ladies, if we have any), Greetings from the Corona Coast,
My son recently made a trip to middle states and left his firearms with me. He has a fair collection of Enfields and I am almost totally ignorant of the markings, being more interested in US Arms. And I need some help identifying the maker of this No4 Mk1.
This rifle was purchased some 15 years ago. The only serials that match is the receiver and magazine which is missing in the photos. The magazine serial is an obvious hand stamp.
I have taken photo of all marking on the rifle (that I can find). I can find no importer stamps but this does appear to be a rebuild but not arsenal. The "ENGLAND" stamp tells me it was imported for sale. The tip of the barrel stamp (pic would not take with camera) "NP", "303 2", "185 TONS".
Yes, the front sight fell off during the photo shoot and I did not notice until I was done.
Any help in IDing the maker would be appreciated, Thank you

A serial number starting with "1" would be Maltby rodanance factory in the UK.

NP is Nitro Proof.
.303 the calibre
2.22" the cartridge case length
18.5 tons per square inch test pressure.

The 'M' stamp on the wrist which looks like the middle is a 'Y' is the maker mark for Royal Ordnance Factory MALTBY as stated above

The 'ENGLAND' marking is the USA pre 1968 Import mark, nothing to do with being 'imported for sale'.

Missing the cross pin for the rear of the bottom wood they come up as a pair sometimes one fleabay in the UK, that front sight block looks pretty beat up to hell might be worth sourcing a new on whether you can get the same may be an issue but without that front blade bit its just a noisy pike with the bayonet attached.................!!

You know, when I was photographing this rifle, I noticed the holes for the pin but didn't know if a pin was supposed to be in there. Looked it up on Numrich Gun Parts but didn't see one listed nor shown on the parts diagram. Does the pin just hammer in or is it threaded? I found the front sight and reattached it.

Make sure the front sight blade is a Mk.1* or Mk.3 with the split dovetail which serves to tension it into the solid front sight base. It shouldn't just fall out. The rifle looks to be Parkerized post service.

The single pin goes right across both sides and is peened round over on both sides.

Reinstalled the front sight. It only went in from left to right. Stamp on sight was "03" on right side and "B" on left. It fits snug but a sharp jar on the left side could possibly loosen it.

If I can't find a pin is there a way to use a makeshift pin? How does not having a pin affect the rifle?
