WW1 'Periscope Prism company' sniper scope???

I have an oportunity to purchase what i beleive is a sniper scope off a WW1 SMLE sniper rifle.

Can the experts please have a look at the attached photos & let me know what you think.

Looks absolutely typical. Try and find out if it was brought home by an ANZAC vet and if so, who. The only thing I see that looks a little different is the two holes in the flat of the dovetail.

Hard to say when the initials went on the case, but looks like it was a long time ago. Do a little detective work; provenance adds a lot of value if you're planning to resell it.

Yes, it looks a nice example. The leather case is correct but not matched to the scope.

Depends on local conditions, but based on the Aldis with case we saw offered in NZ recently with a starting bid of $1000NZD something around that maybe?

I've had a number of small batches of repro PPCo bases made over the years Bindi. I don't have any currently, but was in the process of getting another small run made when the present fun & games hit us. Hopefully they'll arrive in the fullness of time......
