Thoughts on my drawers
Took my SMLE apart for a clean since it has been a few years,
The condition of the drawers hasn't changed but ive always thought they looked a bit average,
Are these acceptable for use?

You do realise there is a difference between drawers, and the draws on a LE?

Looks like a crack in the left hand draw - or am I mistaken? If I'm right, I would suggest drip superglue into the crack in an attempt to buy time before a big repair is needed.

While you have it apart glue and pin the crack and fit some copper plates save a bigger job down the track

Get the oil out of there before any glue goes in

Brush the whole forend down with linseed oil
inside and out and let sit for a few hours then wipe off. Repeat for as many times as it will continue to absorb the stuff.
Shrinkage due to drying out is the major reason for forend problems, IMHO.
Though your's doesn't look that dry in the photos. Glue the crack first too of course!
