When it rains !..Another Mauser..
Just found an FR8 in .308. I have a case of Winchester .308 left over from when I sold my 1919 Browning Semi. Am I good to go with this ammo ?..thanks..JV...........

Hahaha, did that too....drew some blood....

Constant debate on this The FR 8 is designed with NATO ammo in mind. 308 can be a little hotter as the case thickness is difference and can produce pressure differences. Probably will not hurt a bolt action rifle. The rifle is strong enough to handle it. The FR 7 on the other hand I would not recommend it.

Both the FR 7 and FR 8 rifles are strong enough to handle the round they were chambered in...7.62x51mm NATO...as long as the rifles afore mentioned are in sound condition. The FR 8's '98 Mauser action should be strong enough for .308 Winchester but why tempt fate? Trade the 308 for 7.62 even up.
