Four digit Inland
I was lucky to cherry-pick through probably 100 M1
Carbines all in early configuration, somehow an Inland M1 attracted me, especially since it had a four digit serial number. I'm not the Carbine collector, so would appreciate any input I'm getting on this rifle. Thanks!
Edit: rear sight was changed to adjustable on all. I replaced the rear sight with a flip rear sight since I have a few spare originals at hand. Hope I installed it the correct way round, as well as that I picked the correct one for this rifle. Other than this nothing was done.
Edit 24.06.2023: re-uploaded pictures that were deleted.

Installation is correct, sight is not, IN-B is an IBM rear sight.

I have seen four digit Inland carbines that had the adjustable rear sight installed and the serial number re-stamped in front of the sight
as it is difficult to read under the adjustable sight

Promo, a type 1 rear sight marked S, or WSI on left. nothing on the right base. Leaf unmarked or with WI would be correct for your carbine. It's a real beautiful one for sure. You did very well with it.

Nice carbine with nice patina overall. Love the early features and number...

Sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'll be going with a friend to inspect what is supposed to be an all original 3 digit Inland. I'll let you guys know what I find.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

Great looking rifle! I can't imagine cherry picking over 100 in early configuration, that's probably a story in itself I'd like to hear.

I bet you could get people to pay to go with you for that. I know I would!

Promo,
If you don't have one..
I have a Type 1 rear sight marked S on the left. Leaf with WI
I'd trade for a B-S'G' if you have one.
Could send pictures and cover shipping both ways.

Thanks! I do have two S only marked ones, will then swap. Also have a S and opposite side TN marked, S and opposite GE-Q (or O?) marked, S and FC-B marked and a square S marked one.
