Help with Saginaw S.G. barrel proof mark
Hi everyone, I just pick up a first block serial number 1943 M1
carbine with an Underwood receiver and a Saginaw S.G. barrel. It has what looks like a backward 3 proof mark, but I can't find any information on it. Thanks

Could it be a sloppy flaming bomb stamping? I have a SG barrel that has what I determine to be a ordnance bomb on top of the barrel between the P proof and manufacturers markings.

SG used one if not the largest P proof stamp. Could the backward appearing 3 be a double struck or rebounded P ?

The bomb I mentioned is about an inch below the manuf. marking and slightly skewed to the left as you sight down the barrel. If OP’s marking is close to where the proof should be, might be a mis-struck proof, but my bomb is in addition to the proof and well above it.

I can't help with the phone.........
I still use my Flip phone
1 of these should help you:
https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=28752
https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=56629
My Method 1:
I usually save my pictures in a desk top file as a JPEG , Go to GO ADVANCED, type the message, click on the little paper clip above, Hit Add Files, then I Choose the file from my desk top I have the picture in, Click on the picture file I want, then hit open, then hit the little brown Upload button. It should now be in the bottom box- as a Attached Thumbnail- when you hit PREVIEW. If it doesn't show up...... You've done something wrong..... Or I can't explain Sh!t. Keep Previewing until you got it right. then hit Submit Reply.
My Method 2:
You can also Right click over a picture, then left click Copy Image Address, Click on and open the window up top that says 'Insert Image' when you hover over it, Once open hit the space bar to get rid of the pop up http:// then paste your Copied Image Address in it. Have your Cursor where you want your picture to be located. These pics have to be JPG to work,,,, those ending in PNG wont load.
If you Posted and see a problem you can hit the Edit and fix it, Preview again and if all is ok hit Save Changes, this will post your revised post.
Good Luck
