    "Sporterized" Stock & Trigger Guard

About 30 years ago, I bought a Remington 1917 at an auction sale. It had been "sporterized" in the usual way, ie, handguards tossed and stock chopped forward of the finger grooves. Other than that, pretty much intact with a barrel date of 7-18. I was a hunter and a shooter and had no interest in restoring military firearms. I ran across a Fajen stock together with a straightened trigger guard at a gun show and that is what the rifle wears now.

Now to the point of this post: Is there any interest in the original stock or guard? The chopped stock has no markings I can find other than boxed 3GM-K on the left side beneath the ejecter box. The trigger guard appears to be Winchester with a stamped W behind the magazine and a stamped A.R ahead of the magazine.

If you put it up on the WTS forum you may have luck. Useable is still good.
