Type 38 screw threads?

Bought a type 38 recently thats missing the long rear trigger guard screw, anyone know the tread pitch or a thread pitch made nowadays thats close?

As it is metric I'd try to find a used part. It's not a screw you would find in a good hardware store.

Looks like Numrich has a reproduction set of guard screws in stock and Old Arms Idaho indicated that they had an original rear guard screw in stock. Hope that helps!

I concur. This would be my first stop looking for replacement part. He recently did some work on a Type 14 for me and it was a excellent job.

Appriciate the response, not sure how I missed the repro screws on numrich but ended up order those, will keep that other gent in mind, been thinking of getting a type 14 recently, several for sale at the gun show near me

Mine was missing that special spring safety located on the front of the pistol grip. Apparently, that is a common defect for these pistols and there is no supply of replacement parts. He makes his own and installs them. You can't tell that it is a replacement.
