Inscriptions on Arisaka rifle stock, definitely used in Pacific by Japanese

I cannot for the life of me figure out what these inscriptions mean. It was definitely used in combat, though I don't know where other than by the Japanese against the US. Could either be a Type 38 or a Type 99, though I'm leaning towards the former. Probably closer to early-war production as the design on the end of the bolt is intact.

These marking usually indicate it is a training rifle and is the name of the school.

This was either made as a training rifle (bore has no rifling=do not shoot it) or a previous rifle removed from service and used for training. If it is rifling, you should be able to shoot it after inspection.

If you post pictures of the receiver markings (top and left side) it will provide more info to help ID the rifle. Also check for barrel rifling.

Oh, based on the rear sling swivel, it’s a Type 38. There should be two holes on top of the receiver chamber.

The enquiry was answered pretty much after 3 hours perhaps the O.P was hoping it was a heirloom from Hirohito The Living God and worth millions, when it was found to be a training rifle then all hope of an early retirement went out the window.
We've seen this time and again on the forum if one was truly interested they would thank those that supplied the information and be happy they have something that although perhaps not a real bang stick it is still a unique item.

Ian of Forgotten Weapons did a Q&A once. The question was, basically, "what's the rifle?" Presumably it included a picture. He essentially said, "Even without looking at the picture, it's Japanese."

Pretty much any other firearm, foreign or domestic, will have something written in letters (or at worst, Cyrillic) that can be Googled. Japanese rifles with Kanji...not so much!
