Directory for Markings Anywhere?
I have a couple of butt plates with stamps on the tails. I've been searching online for a directory or listing of Mauser markings so I could determine the meanings, but can't seem to find too much. I think they signify where they were manufactured, but I'm fairly new to this and I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

I think that it may be helpful to provide further information and photos of exactly what you have in order to get replies. The problem with Mausers is that they had contracts with many countries besides Germany

I posted a couple of pictures in the first post - I was wondering if there was a directory somewhere of all the various markings since there were so many contracts to produce them.

I think that he may just have the butt plates and nothing else. When I first read it, and responded, I assumed that he also owned the rifles to which the butt plates attach.

I only have the butt plates and was curious as to what the stamps meant. I'm just getting into collecting. I have a lot to learn!

Sorry to be picky, but how do you know that they are even off Mausers?
Before worrying about the markings, let's see a couple of photos of the buttplates - on both sides (yes, inside as well!) - as Mausers often had some markings there. That would also help us to narrow down the possible models. At the moment, if the markings already shown are the only ones, then I reckon the buttplates are unlikely to be from military rifles.

Here are pics of one of them. The inside has the letter "M". Also what looks like a serial number. The other one has no markings, but the shape and size is identical.

What makes you so sure that they are Mauser? Have you matched them to a known Mauser butt plate?

Other than I bought them with other Mauser parts, I don't know for sure. Looks like an M91, 93, 95 from online searches though.
