Hello gents,
Would you tell me if a correct M2 handguard has 2 or 4 rivets, please?
Thank you in advance

Four as the handguard had been changed from two to four rivets before the M2 went into production. And the manual specifically states that the two rivet handguard is not to be used on the M2.

Hey Eb,
I really appreciate your reply, the handguard is marked S-HB, has the very same color, wear, and scratches that match the stock that is marked as IO with the cartouche mark in the right side.

That you might have an M2 with a two rivet handguard only points to the issue someone didn't read the manual and didn't care. You have no idea if both stock and handguard are original from the date of production. Lot's of things got done at field level repair that were only to get the firearm back in action.
