making scope mounts for Model 1903 conversion to 22 RF
A few years ago I bought one of the CMP
low numbered barreled actions with a burned out bore for $100.00. I had a man in South Carolina install a quality rim fire liner with extended breech to fit the M2 bolt. I bought a M2 bolt with headspace adjustments.
I wanted to make a mount without drilling the receiver so that I could install this barrel in another 1903 if desired and the mount and scope would go with the package. I am starting to test fire this combination and it looks very good. this is a solid mount for the 22 rim fire, also had to make a taller front scope block. Scope is pre war Lyman 438 that was restored by Iron Sight
