No4 rifle bedding
I fitted a new forend to a No4 that had been sporterized. In the process, I lost the 2 stage trigger pull. Now the trigger works as a single stage most of the time with an occasional 2 stage pull. I think the answer is that the orientation of the trigger guard is different with the new stock. My guess is that it is now a little further out from the action. The rifle accuracy is fantastic so I don't want to mess with the bedding if I can avoid it. With the old stock I had an excellent 2 stage pull. I tried switching triggers with the same result. Any suggestions from the experts on what the problem is and what the easiest fix would be would be appreciated.

I think you'd find that the trigger guard is down more. You'd need to remove a sliver from underneath the trigger guard.
