    Springfield 1903 3 punch marks

I know about the hardness test punch marks on 03's but I just picked up a 911136 sn Springfield 03 that has 3 of the marks below its serial number on the receiver. Was this one tested 3 times or is this a rebuild trait? It has the best bore condition I've ever seen on a HS (HS 9-44) barrel. Gauges 0 on both ends. Obviously rebuilt but doesn't appear sanded, no rebuild cartouches, some repairs in the stock, but otherwise really nice overall.

I can find info on hardness tests in front of the serial, but I can't find anything talking about multiple punch marks like this.

Also could someone take a look and check SRS on this, I'd be much obliged.

I replied on the CMPicon forum. But I'm pretty sure the docs say they stamped it at that location for each time it was proof fired.

If I get time I will go back and find the doc and double check myself to make sure I'm not remembering incorrectly
