Good day everyone,
I had my desporterized no.4 mk.1 apart for a thorough cleaning today, and I noticed this stamp in the barrel channel of the forend which made me curious over the stock's origins. I bought it several years ago on ebay, it was simply advertised as 'unissued NOS' and miraculously fit the rifle perfectly with very little bedding needed, so I didn't really concern myself with making sure it came from the same factory (long branch) as the receiver. Anyways, just curious on the origin of the wood, the stamp looks like a 'P' to me for POF, but looks quite a bit different from other POF stamps I've seen in searching around the forums here in that it's not in a circle or square and has a different font. I was also thinking it could be a 'B' for BSA with the bottom part worn off.
Thanks in advance for any help!Information
