I have added a question mark to the title of this post as although the rifle is marked as a MkII it would appear to have woodwork from a Mk1 and a rear sight that does not fit any of the early .303 to .22 conversions as it has side graduations marked for .22 ranges. The barrel is solid and does not carry the rifle serial number and the foresight protector is marked .22.
The front volley sight dial has been removed and very well patched, a credit to the armourer who did it but the magazine cut off is still in place. It is clearly marked "N" for Navy issue but how it came to be so different is any ones guess, but with Enfield Rifles who knows.....
