    Ovidio pigman

The Dogs and I went on a 4 day hunt . I got a new Westie pup to go with the old man . Spent 2 days at a friends ranch with canyons . I got 7 pigs for sure with the thermal , including 3 from a herd of 12 . Then 2 days at my ranch to get a 10 point whitetail buck with an old style 30/06 bolt rifle .

Will they ever get on top of these paddock bulldozers Bob, it seems like they just keep coming you know if they only ate a bit you'd not mind but they bulldoze so much leading to lost crops, erosion of the soil and broken fences.
I've shot a few with my 444 Marlin as I hunted in heavy scrub no dogs, at times crawling along on hands and knee's up their runs in bull rushes (Yes I was young and "Stoopid").
I loved the way the 444 dumped them it was just lethal as most of my shots were at 15mtrs out to 100mtrs, I went through plenty of underdacks but!

Maybe the US Govt could off load a few Huey Cobra's I've watched hog hunts from choppers, do they go back and collect the carcasses then turn it into blood and bone!

My friend's place has 200 acres of wheat . They just destroy it . Fences can't keep them out as they will bust through barbwire or dig under a solid fence . My game cam took over 10,000 pics of pigs all night for two weeks . The saying in Texas is every 4 months they have a liter of 12 and 14 of those survive !

My semi auto is an AR-15 in 30 AR with 150 to 168 grain bullets . It is about 150 fps slower than a .308 . I do have many other rifles I made just for pig hunting . A 35 cal Carcano , 44 , 45 and 50 cal bolt rifles . And a monster 70 cal with 900 grain bullets . The anti-gun people over here [ who buy all the their food at McDonalds ] say you only need a single shot for hunting , but as you stated sometimes you need a lot of shots quick . I have hunted big wheat fields at night with herds of 50 or more , that is a lot of shots .
