We here in the West are now officially under a dictatorship by our premier and his b*m buddy police minister.
Who served together in Afghanistan our premier apparently a lawyer drafted the ROE for our armed services.
I guess he sent our troops out with broomsticks with bang tags on the end, this is really just the beginning of them taking all our weapons from us.

This strikes me as similar to several South American countries where the rule is that civilian calibers have to be "lesser calibers" than military or LE.

The list resembles our last attack very, very closely. We were aware they were trying to emulate Australia
's laws.

Yes and another thing our premier is trying to push through is to stop us reloading our own ammunition I don't know but our shooting fraternity here is weak with no clout like the NRA and the 2nd amendment.
The deputy police commissioner said " If you are not using your rifle then hand it in to us!" yep I'm going to hand in my No.4 Sniper T to them because I rarely use it just to give it to you for nothing.
I know for a fact there are 26 50 cal's licensed in this state not sure on what they are offering but I heard a figure of $5.5K or possibly market value.
And another stupid thing this D-*** muppet said on T.V is this "Every illegal firearm started out as a licensed one" OMFG you cannot make this stuff up the illegal guns are just getting more expensive with various methods of them being brought in mainly from the ocean, but no legal owners must suffer.
They made a big splash about 2022 and the 20 gun related deaths in our state well how many have died in cars and been maimed, I've never seen or heard anyone running down the street with a 50 Barret or a 375 Chey-Tac in West Au ever, no they have singled us out.
Some more fuel to the firearms debacle we are now going to be physc tested, have to renew or property permission to shoot farm letters every 2 years.
Farmers are also being scrutinised as to the amount of personnel they have listed to shoot vermin on their property/ies if to many are listed then they will be saying to the farmer why do they need a firearm!
All this amounts to for me is making me disillusioned as to why our forbearers went to war for to stop this subjugation of ppl so we could enjoy our freedoms which included the sport of hunting and shooting which our country has a very long and distinguished history of.
I hope I've perched it if China ever decides to walk in here as there will be no militia to help our armed forces out because they took our weapons from us.

The claim that these calibres are now banned because of the ability to defeat body armour (which is only available to Police & Military in Australia
) makes me wonder what they are planning for the future that generates such fear! If their fears are valid they should be afraid of lesser calibres in the hands of people who can shoot sub-MOA. They have previously made noises here in NZ about similar calibres but it never went anywhere. I am sure they will try again.
I had a friend who was in the Aussie Territorials at Mt Newman in WA 20 years ago and their job, in the event of invasion, was to confiscate all privately owned firearms. Go figure!

If they start in earnest today it will take them 200 years to get them all swept up. The politicians make it sound like they intend to clean it all up in one term. But honestly I do think they might BELIEVE they can...

The question nobody seems to continue asking: In how many crimes in this state have theses firearms been used? If so, why are you banning them?

We have had allot of stabbings, drug affected ppl causing havoc, one punch attacks that far outweigh the firearm statistics truth be known a person could just walk into Woolworths, K-Mart or Coles there hanging up unlocked ready to buy are a great selection of very sharp kitchen knives!
A person deranged grabbing a couple of those can do untold damage in a shopping center before they are stopped but a long arm in a safe locked away apparently posses more of a threat to public safety than the example given above.
